What if my tooth cracks?

A cracked tooth must be examined at the dentist's office. You can book an appointment with Hygga from our appointment calendar by calling (09) 58 400 300 or by chat. Cracks in teeth are patched and polished as needed. The appropriate filling material is selected together with the customer.

Why does Hygga have a booking fee?

Hygga's €19.90 booking fee includes eResepti and MyKanta costs, which are not charged separately. The booking fee guarantees you an unrivaled care experience and a flexible operating time with our exceptional operating model. The length of the treatment period is not determined when booking, but you can have all your mouth problems treated at once (if clinically possible). The dentist and dental hygienist do not have a limited time to treat your teeth, so you will receive quality care every time. When you care for your teeth once in a while, you won't have to pay recurring booking fees, like at a traditional dental clinic. If you postpone your appointment 12 hours before the scheduled time window, your booking fee will be rescheduled.

I'm afraid of the dentist. How is my fear of dentist addressed?

If you are afraid to visit the dentist, here at Hygga you can tell us. We will make your dental visit more comfortable by telling you the steps involved in your treatment before you start treatment. You can always ask if you have any questions. We may also take breaks if the procedure allows. Thanks to Hygga's booking system, we can do several procedures at once, which also helps patients who are afraid when they don't have book multiple dental appointments. However, you do not need to do several operations at once if you do not want to.

When can teeth whitening be done?

Before whitening your teeth, your teeth must be checked. You must not have dental caries or inflammation. You also need to get tartar removed before your teeth can be whitened. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot get your teeth whitened.

What is the difference between soda cleaning and tooth whitening?

Soda cleaning quickly and gently removes stains on your teeth. Soda cleaning can be done several times a year. Teeth whitening effectively whitens your teeth. Maintenance whitening is done after 6-18 months after the first whitening appointment.

I booked a time between 1 pm and 2 pm. What does this time window mean?

Hyggas booking allows you flexible access and treatment time: if needed, you can treat all your mouth problems at once (if clinically possible). Your dental appointment will start within the hour you have booked. You will receive an SMS with your advanced treatment time at least 30 minutes before your appointment. So you should contact your clinic shortly before your time window begins. For example, you can visit Kamppi Shopping Center while waiting for your appointment to start.

How do I know which service voucher I have been issued?

You can find the type and number of the service voucher on the palse.fi portal with a Suomi.fi authentication (online bank codes or mobile certificate).

If you have been issued a Comprehensive Care Health Voucher (KOHO), you must book your appointment using the KOHO booking calendar only. This way we can guarantee you the resources you need for your treatment.   If you book your appointment using another appointment calendar, we will not be able to provide your treatment and may have to cancel your appointment. A cancellation fee of €50.80 will be charged for cancelled appointments.

How do I book a time?

The easiest way is to book an appointment yourself is to use our online booking. You can also book a time by calling us on 09 58 400 300, or via chat on our website.

I did not receive a confirmation email message. What should I do?

If you have not received a message, check your spam/junk mail folder. Please note that there may be a small delay in the arrival of the message.

How can I change or cancel my appointment?

You are free to change your booked time slot to another time slot with the same booking fee when you do it 12 hours before your booked appointment. The appointment confirmation email includes a link which you can use for changing and cancelling appointments. You can also cancel your appointment by sending an email to info@hygga.fi. However, we will not refund the booking fee for a cancelled appointment.

I do not have a Finnish personal identity number. Can I still book a time?

Unfortunately, you cannot book a time online if you do not have a Finnish ID number, but we can make an appointment for you by phone or via our chat service.

Can I pay with cash?

We do not handle cash payments at our reception. You can pay the treatment fee using a Finnish debit card, or by Visa Electron, credit card or Apple Pay. (Not Amex)

Do I need to bring a Kela card with me or will a European Health Insurance Card be sufficient?

To obtain a direct reimbursement, you must bring your Kela card with you. Unfortunately, a European Health Insurance Card does not entitle the holder to Kela compensation.

I have already paid the booking fee. Do I still have to pay for treatment?

The booking fee does not cover any treatment costs. Before starting treatment, the dentist or dental hygienist will go through the treatment plan and the related cost estimate, i.e. no unexpected costs arise at our clinic. Examples of treatment prices are given on our price list.

How can I obtain a referral for a dental hygienist to remove tartar?

You can obtain a referral after an oral and dental checkup performed by a dentist. If necessary, the dental hygienist will be brought into the room at the beginning of your treatment, in order to draw up a referral. If you have had a checkup at another private clinic, you can bring your referral for a dental hygienist with you and there is no need for another checkup.

Can I make an appointment with the same dentist or dental hygienist next time?

Our dentists and hygienists do not have their own appointment books. Patients are always allocated to the first dentist or dental hygienist who is free to treat them. Because your treatment plan is saved in our patient information system, treatment will continue as planned, even if the dentist or dental hygienist changes.

Is general anaesthesia available for dental procedures performed at Hygga?

Unfortunately, anaesthesia is not available. This is because certain arrangements and precautions, which we cannot provide, are required for dental care involving general anaesthesia. However, we can provide pre-medication if someone accompanies you at the reception.

I have active cold sore (oral herpes). Can I obtain dental care?

Unfortunately, we cannot treat a customer whose cold sore has not fully healed. If you have already booked a time, you can change it to a later time.

Why can’t I choose the dentist or dental hygienist who will treat me?

Our operating model is based on modern enterprise resource planning, enabling us to tailor each day's flow of patients to individual care needs. Such flexibility is based on the next patient being treated by the first dentist or dental hygienist who becomes free. However, in the case of specialist treatments and longer treatment periods, such as root canal treatment, we try to continue the treatment with the dentist who started it.

Why do the prices of fillings vary so much?

The price of each filling is determined by the extent of the area to be filled. The dentist will discuss the filling area with you, i.e. the area may be the size of one, two or three fillings, or may require a full crown. The price of a filling is also affected by whether local anesthesia is used, the size of the anesthetised area, and whether the cavity is deep i.e. whether additional procedures are needed. Detailed prices can be found in our price list.

Why does the price list not include prices for the repair of a broken tooth?

The dentist will treat a cracked tooth with a filling or crown, i.e. you can estimate the price based on the filling prices. Remember that the dentist determines the final price after they have examined your tooth.

This is how it works

1.

Book the most convenient hour as a time slot and pay the booking fee 19,90€.

2.

Your treatment will begin within the time slot, as soon as the first dentist or dental hygienist is free. You will receive your exact time by text message half an hour before your treatment time.

3.

Your visit will last just as long as you like. Treating all of your problems at once will avoid awkward revisits and save time.
